About the Authors
Izzy is a sophomore at Emory University from West Hartford, CT. She chose to focus on children's expressions throughout the time of internment in order to shed light on the demoralizing nature of internment and its theft of childhood innocence.
Ashley is from Athens, GA and is a senior at Emory University. She chose to focus on Ansel Adams and Dorothea Lange's photographs of internment because of her personal interest in these two photographers.
Matt is a Milwaukee, WI native and a senior at Emory University. His page examines the influence of photographic context on the expressions of children during Japanese internment, with the goal of better understanding how child internees navigated internment.
Jacqueline is a junior at Emory University. Upon graduation she will receive a major from both the English and psychology departments. She chose to focus on pictures that were taken in the Tule Lake Internment Camp. All of her pictures are taken from the Densho Archive, and are hyperlinked to the archive.
